Natalie Anderson is a senior studying journalism at Louisiana State University, minoring in political science and psychology. While at LSU, Anderson led the coverage of the hazing-related death of a freshman pledge. She also covered multiple legislative sessions at the Louisiana State Capitol for The Advocate newspaper in Baton Rouge, and analyzed public records at The Desert Sun newspaper in Palm Springs, California, to illustrate how a major medical cannabis company set its roots in the Coachella Valley. Allie Barton is a recent graduate of the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. As an undergraduate, Barton worked on several short documentaries. She also worked as a producer for “Catalyst” at Arizona PBS, a series that explores scientific research at ASU. In her senior year, she traveled to Peru with other Cronkite students to produce a multimedia report on the plight of the more than 700,000 Venezuelan migrants who have settled there to escape economic and political instability. Kailey Broussard is a master’s student at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication at Arizona State University. As an undergraduate, Broussard reported on historic flooding in south Louisiana, as well as fraternity hazing at her alma mater, the University of Louisiana at Lafayette. Her work has won regional recognition from the Society of Professional Journalists and the Southeast Journalism Conference. Briana Castañón is a graduate student pursuing a degree in journalism at the University of North Texas. A native Texan, she has wanted to work in news since third grade. She interned at Denton Television, the city’s TV channel. She also reported for the campus television station, North Texas Daily TV. Her story about a local high school teacher who was an undocumented immigrant was nominated and won a Lone Star Emmy. She also has experience as a TV producer, editor and anchor. Justine Coleman is a recent graduate of the School of Media and Public Affairs at George Washington University, with a major in journalism and mass communication and minors in psychology and religion. Coleman interned two semesters at NBC’s “Meet the Press.” She also worked at the Investigative Reporting Workshop at American University, assisting with The Washington Post’s coverage on unsolved murders, and on the Maryland and Virginia primaries. Anton Delgado is a senior at Elon University where he studies journalism and international and global studies. At Elon, he serves as the managing editor of the school newspaper and as a multimedia journalist for Elon News Network. Delgado spent fall 2018 in Morocco interning as a news correspondent for Morocco World News. He has previously worked for Save the Children Jordan and Town & Country. Originally from Pittsburgh, Duerig previously worked in the nonprofit sector, overseeing and teaching within a youth media program. As a multimedia journalist, she has covered environmental, social justice and culture topics, and most recently reported on efforts to help Venezuelan migrant children at the border of Peru and Ecuador. Christian Gravius is a recent graduate of St. Bonaventure University where he majored in journalism and minored in English. Gravius covered high school sports for the Olean Times Herald in New York, and worked as a marketing intern at the world’s largest YMCA in Estes Park, Colorado. Gravius covered the St. Bonaventure Bonnies in the 2018 NCAA Men’s Basketball Tournament in Dallas. Gravius won the top award in the Jim Murray Memorial Foundation competition for an essay he wrote about a former teammate’s running career before and after a life-changing accident. Katie Hunger is a junior at DePauw University where she is majoring in English literature. Hunger has been heavily involved in student media since she stepped foot on campus. She currently serves as the editor-in-chief of The DePauw, Indiana’s oldest college newspaper. In fall 2018, Hunger was chosen as the Indianapolis Star’s Our Children Fellow, and she spent 18 weeks reporting on children’s issues and programs that help them. Hunger has also completed an internship at The Madison Courier in Indiana where she covered everything from school board meetings to the death of a county councilman.

Anna Huntsman recently graduated summa cum laude from Kent State University with a degree in broadcast journalism. Huntsman is focused on audio storytelling and podcasting, and her reporting has aired at public radio stations across Ohio. She reported on major Northeast Ohio stories for Kent’s NPR member station, WKSU 89.7, and helped coordinate breaking and daily news coverage at the assignment desk at WKYC-TV, Cleveland’s NBC affiliate. Drew Hutchinson is a senior studying journalism at the University of Oklahoma. She is the senior reporter for her school’s digital-first publication, the OU Daily, where she has also worked in podcasting and copy editing. During her time at the paper, she has exposed a law dean’s affiliation with a hate group, covered lawsuits against the university and broken down controversial public-private partnerships involving OU. Magnuson, who is from Minneapolis, is also working on a minor in Spanish. At Cronkite, Magnuson reported on health care for the homeless and on the plight of Venezuelan migrants without health care in Peru. Jake Steinberg is a recent graduate of the Hubbard School of Journalism at the University of Minnesota. While in college, Steinberg reported for the Minnesota Daily. He worked the higher ed beat, covering the inner workings of one of the county’s top public research institutions. He spent last summer working in Alaska, where he reported on a man killed by police and a family that didn’t know why — eight months later. Steinberg hasn’t found a place that didn’t have a story. She managed over 100 student journalists during the 2018 Oklahoma teacher walkout. Waltermire was on faculty for the 2019 National Press Photographers Association News Video Workshop in Norman. She has been a public affairs specialist with the Oklahoma Air National Guard for six years, contributing to the award-winning Air Observer, the biannual journal of the 137th Special Operations Wing.
